“There’s so much plastic in this culture that vinyl leopard skin is becoming an endangered synthetic.” – Lily Tomlin

From “The Human Condition: A User’s Manual” by Arnold Kunst
As a society our nerve endings have all gone dead because we have sold out for the synthetic over the vibrant. We don't even realize that those dust-covered flowers are plastic. Excitement is equally celluloid; what looks threateningly three-dimensional is only a hologram; computer graphics is where flesh and blood should be. We think we're healthy if we eat the thing before its "sell-by" date. Isaiah cuts through all that: "Why spend your money for what is not bread?...Heed Me, and you shall eat well..."
That look-alike stuff just doesn't cut it...
